Over the last decade, Elko New Market has been the fastest growing city in Minnesota. However, they currently do not have the capacity to support an MIS Department. In 2011, in true SCALE cooperative spirit, the City of Savage agreed to outsource some of their staff to provide MIS support services to Elko New Market. Some of the many services the City of Savage provides includes desktop support for daily inquiries related to system reliability and operation, regular system backups, shared access to documents and finance, remote assistance, antivirus and spam filtering, and providing SCADA support. This partnership not only enhances Elko New Market’s service delivery options, it also capitalizes on the expert resources that Savage has available. Elko New Market estimates that is saves $50,000 per year by not having to hire their own MIS support staff person.
